Simple practical solutions so hospital employees feel comfortable navigating areas in the hospital which are touched by a variety of persons (opening doors, elevator buttons, keyboards, microphones, chairs in common areas).
A portable air “purifier” to accelerate air clearance following Aerosol Generating Medical Procedures (AGMP). (A portable device that could be used to improve air clearance in OR’s and other rooms where AGMPs are performed. This could use a HEPA-filter or UV-C technology and would be particularly useful in retrofitting older hospitals to allow for faster room-turnover).
Washable, re-usable surgical/procedural masks and/or respirators that meet NIOSH/ASTM standards.
Alternative/ improved mask filter material (in face of shortage of conventional material)
Completely autonomous UV-C decontamination
Artificial intelligence (AI) program to interpret chest x-rays and CT scans to produce a probability of COVID-19 pulmonary infection
AI program to develop a robust data-driven clinical assessment tool based on symptoms, lab findings +/- imaging to determine the likelihood ratios of individual symptoms/constellations of Sx (e.g. as per JAMA clinical exam series, but using technology instead of chart reviews)
3D printing for rapid prototyping of supplies to improve mask fit
